April 7-Renaissance blog post from Jeff

My trip to Atlanta was a doozy. It was great to see my friends/fans, but it was a real eye-opener. The awkwardness of the performance time was one thing, but I had bizarro trip on a personal level. It was among the lowest points of my life. I am not really going to get into the details, but things were so emotionally draining that I knew I had to start making some drastic changes in every facet of my life.
A lot of people don’t like to admit this, but we are responsible for every single circumstance in our lives- good or bad, because of the way we THINK and BEHAVE. Everything is a result of our THOUGHTS and ACTIONS.
I am certainly no different.
A renaissance or rebirth is necessary. The concept of my company Rising Phoenix Media is based on this idea. The phoenix was destroyed, burnt to the ground, only to rise up and soar even higher.
A close friend of mine, who knew what I was going through personally, approached me with the Rising Phoenix theme. I loved it. But, I never really started over from scratch. I held on to the safe and familiar things: behaviors, industry professionals, and “friends.”
After Atlanta, it is a necessity for me to change things.
The Orange County, California and Boston shows are my last two shows in clubs. I have a commitment in Hawaii and one in Australia as well, but I am not sure of the venues at this time. No more club performances.
The Boston show is one I am excited to do because I love the city, and am a fan of Louie Bello who will be performing with me.
The Orange County show will be unique because it is a very small venue: a restaurant in a country club that is owned by a friend of the family. We are celebrating my birthday, and it’s gonna get nuts. It will be my most intimate appearance ever.
I am blessed to have had tremendous feedback on the new album. The trickle release on my website and reverbnation has introduced the new music and sound to over a million people so far.
I have some amazing new things coming: websites, music, contests, fun and excitement.
What’s over the horizon is uncertain, but my faith has been galvanized by humility. The fire within my chest is growing, and it drives me toward my dreams and vision.
I hope you can join me on this new journey.

Love you,

Jeff
