Jeff Timmons Talks 98 Degrees Reunion

Timmons spoke exclusively with Celebuzz, discussing rumors that the quartet comprised of Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, Justin Jeffre, and Timmons, would reunite with a tour. It was looking promising with the group meeting up several times throughout the years for discussions about giving the fans something to remember after a sudden split following the September 11th attacks in 2001. However, Timmons isn’t as optimistic for their future as a group.

“We had gotten serious about it — so much so that a 15-city tour was being put together for us, [but] not everybody wanted to do it for various reasons. We make decisions collectively as a group; not one person makes decisions. Not all four of us were on the same page, [so] we decided not to do it. I know it came out that it was due possibly to Nick having a baby. I’m sure that played a small part into it, but I don’t think that was the main reason we didn’t get back together. We had talked about it after that, and had a discussion, saying, ‘All right, well, we’re not gonna do this tour now, but we’ll leave it open.’ I honestly don’t think it’s gonna happen at all now. If it wasn’t gonna happen now, it wasn’t gonna happen last year … Maybe it’ll never happen.”

 Timmons admitted the group’s priorities were mixed, only managing to put out three major studio albums in their five years together stating, “I think some of the other guys like touring better, I think some of the other guys like being celebrities better. When you’re creating music, you need to have all four guys on the same page.”
In addition to 98 Degrees, Timmons joined Las Vegas’ Chippendale’s troop for a month in 2011. The vocalist, who confesses that he’s a “studio nerd” joined forces with ex boy  band members Chris Kirkpatrick of Nsync, Bryan Abrams of Color Me Badd, and the late Rich Cronin of LFO in Sure Shot, a band that was designed for boy band defuncts which was featured in a VH1 reality show Mission Man Band.
